Sana’a University President Chairs Regular Meeting of Kuwait University Hospital Board of Directors

The Board of Directors (BoD) of Kuwait University Hospital held its regular meeting on Wednesday morning, chaired by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University and Chairman of the Hospital’s BoD, at the University Presidency headquarters. The meeting discussed a number of key issues related to enhancing healthcare and administrative performance and improving the quality of medical services provided to citizens.
During the meeting, the University President stressed the importance of holding regular board meetings as a fundamental pillar for strengthening institutional work, ensuring responsible decision-making, and advancing comprehensive development within the hospital, in a manner that contributes to improving both healthcare and educational services.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulhafidh Thawaba, Vice Rector of the University for Medical Faculties and Hospitals; Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences; Prof. Abdul-Latif Abu Talib, Director General of Kuwait University Hospital; and members of the Hospital’s Board of Directors. Participants reviewed several agenda items, most notably the overall performance level, ways to enhance integration between academic and service functions, and mechanisms to improve operational efficiency. The Board also reviewed the hospital’s 2025 achievement report, which highlighted notable development and qualitative progress across various sectors.
The meeting further discussed the strategic plans for 2026, based on a clear vision and practical, experience-based approaches aimed at achieving realistic and implementable objectives and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to the public. Emphasis was placed on the importance of continuous follow-up on the outcomes of the meeting and measuring their tangible impact on the ground.
The BoD reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting Kuwait University Hospital at the academic, administrative, and logistical levels, underscoring the continuation of a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation and maintenance of the hospital’s facilities to ensure a safe, modern, and efficient clinical and working environment in line with the highest standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University Rector expressed his appreciation to the Hospital’s Director General, Prof. Abdul-Latif Abu Talib, and to all BoD members, commending their dedicated efforts and sincere commitment to improving performance and upgrading the healthcare services provided to the community.
The meeting also concluded with an agreement on a clear mechanism to follow up on the implementation of its outcomes and the scheduling of the next meeting, in a way that reinforces institutional continuity and advances the hospital’s developmental goals and humanitarian mission.
