Sana’a – Saturday, 27 December 2025 (7 Rajab 1447 AH)
The President of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, on Saturday inaugurated the cultural and awareness activities marking the anniversary of Rajab Friday for the year 1447 AH. The program was organized by the University’s medical faculties in cooperation with the University Student Forum (USF) under the slogan “Faith is Yemeni, and Wisdom is Yemeni” at Jaber Hall, with the generous patronage of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Hasan Al-Saadi.
In his address, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized that commemorating Rajab Friday represents a significant historical milestone with deep cultural and moral dimensions, reflecting the authenticity of Yemeni society and its civilizational contributions. He underscored the importance of instilling these values in the consciousness of younger generations to strengthen national identity and social belonging.
He further noted that Sana’a University places great emphasis on holistic human development—academically, intellectually, and ethically—alongside its core educational mission. This approach, he said, is fundamental to preparing qualified cadres capable of contributing to sustainable development and community service, while enhancing the University’s standing locally and internationally in line with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also highlighted the role of the medical faculties as a leading model in linking academic education with social responsibility through promoting health and cultural awareness and supporting purposeful activities that develop students’ skills and refine their scientific and humanitarian capacities.
The event featured cultural and choral performances, as well as various student contributions. Ahmed Sharaf Al-Deen, representing the University Student Forum, delivered a speech stressing the importance of commemorating the occasion as an educational platform that reinforces ethical values and community awareness and deepens principles of belonging and national identity.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the University’s commitment to continuing cultural and awareness programs across its various faculties in the coming period as part of its broader vision to enhance the educational environment, develop student activities, and advance its academic profile.
