University President’s Assistant Inspects Educational Morgue and Research Facilities at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

Continuing the University leadership’s commitment to overseeing academic development, Dr. Abdulhafedh Thawaba, the University Rector’s Assistant for Medical Faculties and Hospitals Affairs, conducted a field visit to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine today. The visit focused on inspecting the faculty’s educational morgue facilities and assessing its research capabilities.
Upon arrival, Dr. Thawaba was received by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Abdulraqeeb Al-Shami; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Saleh Al-Omaisi; and the Vice Dean for Quality Assurance, Dr. Kholoud Al-Naser.
During the tour, Dr. Thawaba inspected the morgue’s various facilities, including the laboratories and the museum of animal skeletons and preserved organs. The museum features a comprehensive collection of skeletal structures prepared through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Saleh Al-Omaisi, Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Embryology, with the active participation of the students. The facility also houses a wide range of preserved internal organs, providing students with essential practical training and the opportunity to apply theoretical coursework in a clinical setting.
The visit also covered the research laboratories attached to the morgue, where Dr. Thawaba reviewed the progress of graduation research experiments currently being conducted by students from both the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy. This collaboration highlights the growing academic and research integration between the university’s medical faculties.
Dr. Thawaba expressed his satisfaction with the achievements realized within the faculty’s morgue and the educational, research, and community services it provides, despite its recent establishment. He commended the tangible efforts made to support the educational process and applied research.
In response, the Faculty Dean and the Vice Deans expressed their appreciation for the visit, reaffirming their commitment to continuously developing the scientific and academic standards of the faculty. They emphasized their dedication to upgrading the infrastructure to better serve the students and enhance the quality of the faculty’s outcomes.
This visit falls within the framework of the University Presidency’s dedication to supporting medical faculties, monitoring their needs, and providing an optimal educational environment to achieve the university’s academic and research objectives.
