Cardiac and Catheterization Center Hosts Specialized Workshop on Peripheral Arterial Angioplasty Using Advanced Catheterization Technologies

The Cardiac and Catheterization Center at Sana’a University held a specialized scientific workshop focusing on peripheral arterial angioplasty via catheter-based techniques, with the participation of Egyptian expert Eng. Tarek Hosni, a specialist in advanced catheterization system training and a member of the National Heart Institute in Cairo. The workshop utilized the latest Philips catheterization system, used for the first time in the Republic of Yemen.
The workshop aimed to enhance the technical and professional capacities of medical and technical staff, strengthen practical expertise in cardiac and peripheral catheterization, and keep pace with the latest international medical developments, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services delivered to patients.
Launched last Saturday at the Cardiac and Catheterization Center, the workshop featured advanced practical applications conducted under the direct supervision of Eng. Tarek Hosni.
Additionally, a scientific meeting and a focused discussion session were also convened on Thursday, addressing a wide range of cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures and outlining approved scientific methods for conducting cardiac and vascular diagnostic studies. The session was attended by Egyptian fellowship physicians working at the Center and was characterized by rich scientific and practical exchanges that reflected the advanced competency of the medical staff.
At the conclusion, the Cardiac and Catheterization Center’s administration honored catheterization teams and technicians in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a, in recognition of their dedicated efforts and active role in the success of the workshop. Eng. Tarek Hosni was likewise honored for his distinguished performance and valuable contributions to the training and qualification of physicians and technical staff in the field of catheterization.
