Sana’a University Celebrates Academic Excellence and Honors 33 Researchers at Ceremony for Graduates of Ph.D. in Business Administration

Marking its notable achievements in postgraduate education and scientific research, Sana’a University organized a distinguished grand ceremony to award PhD degrees, during which it honored thirty-three research scholars who completed the academic and administrative requirements for obraining the PhD degree in Business Administration at the Business Administration Center. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Mr. Hasan Abdullah Al-Saadi, Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University.
The ceremony represented a significant academic and national occasion reflecting the university’s continued leadership in higher education and research. In a speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Hatem Al-Dois, Deputy Minister, emphasized that scientific research constitutes a fundamental pillar of development and progress. He stressed the importance of strengthening postgraduate programs and supporting scientific research in ways that contribute effectively to national development and serve community across various scientific and humanitarian fields.
Prof. Al-Dois commended Sana’a University for its pioneering role in designing, describing, and developing MA and PhD programs, noting its success in mitigating the impact of the blockade imposed on Yemen. He also highlighted the university’s contribution to qualifying thousands of researchers and its national role in preparing academic staff for public universities.
In turn, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fulfilling its mission as a national academic institution and a scientific beacon open to all Yemenis from every governorate. He reviewed a number of the University’s qualitative achievements in the fields of postgraduate studies and scientific research.
He further explained that postgraduate programs have witnessed remarkable expansion over the past decade, increasing from 15 MA programs in 2015 to 240 MA and PhD programs today. He also noted that during 2025, Sana’a University published more than 500 scientific research papers in internationally indexed journals, in addition to approximately 366 research papers published in the university’s scientific journals, which have gained growing recognition at the regional level.
During his remarks, the University Rector praised the pioneering efforts of former University Rector Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas and expressed appreciation for the dedication and efforts of the university leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, and researchers. He congratulated the honored graduates on earning their PhD degrees, describing their achievement as a qualitative addition to the university’s academic journey.
At the ceremony, which was attended by Prof. Zaid Al-Wareeth, the Rector’s Assistant for Center Affairs; Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs; Prof. Huda Al-Emad, the Vice-Rector’s Assistant for Postgraduate Studies; along with several deans, center directors, and senior university officials, Prof. Senan Almarhdi, Director of the Business Administration Center, highlighted the center’s leading role in scientific publishing. He stated that the center has produced 155 scientific research papers, including 90 papers published during 2024–2025 in internationally indexed journals listed in Scopus and ISI, in addition to more than 65 papers published in Sana’a University’s scientific journals.
He added that the 33 honored graduates were selected from a total of 65 male and female researchers whose final dissertations were successfully defended during 2024 and 2025, noting that the honorees are those who completed all academic and administrative requirements. He indicated that current enrollment in the center’s PhD programs has reached 600 researchers, while enrollment in the MA program stands at 194 researchers.
The ceremony also included a speech delivered on behalf of the graduates by Dr. Hommadi Al-Khidhami, who expressed sincere appreciation to the university leadership and faculty members for their continuous support. He praised Sana’a University’s sustained achievements despite prevailing challenges, emphasizing that the advanced academic and research environment provided by the university had a significant impact on the completion of their academic journey.
The ceremony concluded with the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research and the Rector of Sana’a University formally awarding PhD in Business Administration certificates to the honored researchers, in a scene that reflected the prestigious academic standing of Sana’a University and its pivotal role in building Yemen’s human capacity both scientifically and academically.
