University Council for Postgraduate Studies Holds 7th Regular Meeting

The University Council for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research at Sana’a University held its seventh regular meeting for the academic year 1447 AH / 2025–2026 today, chaired by Prof. Huda Ali Al-Emad, Assistant Vice Rector of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, with the participation of vice deans of faculties and representatives of scientific and research centers.
During the meeting, the Council discussed a number of academic and administrative matters, including the approval of a Master’s program in Anesthesia at the Faculty of Medical and Applied Sciences, as well as the approval of two Master’s programs at the Faculty of Pharmacy in the specializations of Clinical Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy. The Council also approved a mechanism to ensure the fair distribution of supervisors and examiners across academic departments.
The Council further addressed the issue of students who have discontinued their studies in the Medical Doctorate (MD) program and took the necessary regulatory measures in this regard.
In addition, the Council approved the titles of 21 PhD dissertations and 61 Master’s theses, endorsed the results of thesis defenses and evaluations for 16 Master’s theses and 9 PhD dissertations from various faculties and research centers, and approved the amendment of one PhD dissertation title and a change of supervisor.
The Council also approved the results of students in several academic programs, including PG diploma programs, level-upgrading programs, and the Master’s preliminary program, in addition to approving a number of internal scholarships for teaching assistants and lecturers to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees.
The meeting concluded with a review and approval of the minutes of the previous session.
