Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, conducted an inspection visit today to the Faculty of Engineering, during which he reviewed the operation of a pneumatics bench designed and implemented by third-level students from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering as part of their practical coursework. The visit covered several lecture halls, workshops, laboratories, and green areas across the faculty.
Accompanied by Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs, the Rector was received by Dr. Adel Rawae, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Abdul-Malik Moamin, Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ameri, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering; and Dr. Hamoud Al-Nehari, Pneumatics course instructor.
During the visit, the Rector was briefed by the students on the project’s operating mechanism, its educational goals, and its applicability in conducting hands-on experiments for the Pneumatics course. The project was highlighted as a practical model that enhances experiential learning and effectively bridges theoretical knowledge with applied practice in university laboratories.
Commenting on the occasion, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti commended the students for their distinguished efforts, noting that the project demonstrates a high level of scientific understanding and technical competence. He emphasized the significance of steering student projects toward innovation and meaningful contributions to the educational process, explaining that such initiatives play a vital role in advancing engineering education, equipping laboratories with locally produced instructional tools, and expanding opportunities for research, experimentation, and creativity.
He further stated:
“We urge these students and their colleagues across various faculties and disciplines to continue their pursuit of research and innovation and to channel their academic knowledge into applied projects that benefit the university and society. At the same time, we reaffirm the university’s commitment to supporting and sponsoring purposeful student initiatives that enhance the quality of academic outcomes and strengthen the applied dimension of the educational process.”
