Sana’a University Scientific Research Committee Discusses Regulations for Developing Scientific Research and Approves Publication Incentives

Sana’a – Monday, January 26, 2026 (Sha‘ban 7, 1447 Hijri)*
The Scientific Research Committee at Sana’a University held today its second meeting for the year 2026, chaired by Prof. Ibrahim Al-Muta’a, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Head of the Scientific Research Committee, to discuss a number of key issues related to the development of the university’s scientific research system.
The meeting reviewed a proposed bylaw outlining the duties of the Higher Scientific Research Committee, including its objectives, mandates, and working mechanisms. The proposal aims to strengthen research governance, organize scientific efforts, and activate the role of scientific research in serving development and society.
The committee also discussed a proposed regulation for honoring distinguished researchers at Sana’a University, which seeks to motivate research competencies, recognize outstanding scientific contributions, and encourage researchers to innovate and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals
.
During the meeting, the committee approved the eligibility of four Sana’a University researchers to receive scientific publication incentives, as a step aimed at supporting researchers, stimulating high-quality scientific output, and enhancing the university’s presence in international rankings and scientific databases.
This meeting comes as part of Sana’a University’s ongoing efforts to develop the scientific research environment, improve research performance efficiency, and promote a culture of scientific excellence, thereby strengthening the university’s academic standing at both the local and regional levels.
