Sana’a University President Discusses Development of Graduate Programs in Accounting Department at Faculty of Commerce and Economics

Sana’a – Wednesday, January 28, 2026 (Sha‘ban 9, 1447 Hijri)
Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, met on Wednesday morning with the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, Dr. Hani Al-Mughallis; the Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Mohsen Babqi; and faculty members of the department to discuss the development of graduate programs and ways to enhance the quality of academic education.
During the meeting, the University Rector praised the remarkable progress of the Master’s Program in Accounting and its high-quality outcomes. He emphasized the importance of maintaining academic quality standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to expanding access to graduate programs in line with national and regional needs.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti noted that the Accounting Department is among the leading departments in Yemen and includes a distinguished group of academics known for their competence as well as professional and scientific integrity. He highlighted their role in graduating thousands of students who have flourished as leaders in accounting and auditing, both locally and internationally.
In turn, the Dean of the Faculty and the Head of the Department presented a comprehensive overview of the educational process within the master’s program, the continuous progress in performance development, and ongoing curriculum updates. The meeting also discussed the department’s future plans, including aspirations to launch a PhD program in Accounting in the near future.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Muta’a, along with faculty members of the Accounting Department: Assoc. Prof. Abdulmalik Hajar, Assoc. Prof. Abdulhamid Al-Sayeh, Assoc. Prof. Faiza Al-Masanni, Dr. Lutf Barakat, and Dr. Hasan Al-Sabri
