University President Inspects Final Preparations of Advanced Digital Dental Radiography Facility at Faculty of Dentistry

Sana’a – Sunday, 1 February 2026 (13 Sha‘ban 1447 AH)
The Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, conducted an inspection visit to the Faculty of Dentistry to review the progress made in completing the setup of the advanced digital dental radiography facility, which was recently designed and developed and is currently in its final preparation phase ahead of its official inauguration next week.
During the visit, accompanied by Mr. Mustafa Shari, Assistant Secretary-General of the University, the University Rector reviewed the technical layout of the facility and the specifications of the imaging equipment to be installed. The systems are based on advanced digital technologies that provide high-resolution imaging while significantly reducing radiation exposure, thereby ensuring the safety of patients and students. These technologies also enhance the speed of examinations and enable electronic archiving of images and reports, contributing to the improvement of teaching processes, clinical training, and diagnostic accuracy at the Faculty of Dentistry.
The project also includes the introduction of three-dimensional (3D) imaging technology, known as Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), one of the most advanced radiographic technologies in dentistry. CBCT provides highly detailed images of teeth, jaws, bones, and nerves from multiple angles and is widely used in dental implantology, complex root canal cases, orthodontics, and maxillofacial surgery. This advancement is expected to positively impact the quality of educational and diagnostic services provided to students and patients alike.
The visit further included an inspection of the Faculty’s parking facilities and gardens, as well as an assessment of their needs, in line with the University’s efforts to enhance the campus environment and provide well-developed service facilities that reflect the Faculty of Dentistry’s academic standing.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti was received by Dr. Taghreed Al-Kebsi, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, and Mr. Yahya Al-Sharif, Faculty Secretary, who provided a detailed briefing on the implementation phases of the project and future development plans, affirming the Faculty’s commitment to executing its projects in accordance with the highest technical standards.
This visit comes as part of Sana’a University leadership’s ongoing commitment to developing its academic and medical facilities, supporting the Faculty of Dentistry with modern technologies that contribute to advancing education, training, and healthcare services, and reinforcing the University’s role in serving the community.
