Sana’a University Graduate Studies Council Approves Updates to PhD Programs at Faculty of Languages

The Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council at Sana’a University held its eighth extraordinary meeting for the 1447 AH / 2025–2026 academic year on Monday, 14 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 2 February 2026. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Fares Mohammed Al-Qaderi, Assistant Vice Rector of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, with the participation of vice deans of faculties and representatives of academic and research centers.
During the meeting, the Council discussed a number of academic and administrative issues, including the approval of updated PhD programs at the Faculty of Languages. The agenda also included a discussion of PhD program fees at the University Service Center for Students with Special Needs (USCSSN) within the framework of developing academic programs and enhancing the quality of higher education outcomes.
The Council further addressed the responsibility of academic departments to clearly specify students’ precise fields of specialization in the meeting minutes of thesis and dissertation registration, as well as in the records of forming viva voce committees, in accordance with the approved pathways stipulated in relevant University Council resolutions. This measure aims to regulate academic tracks and ensure scholarly accuracy.
In addition, the Council approved the registration of a number of PhD dissertation and master’s thesis titles, and endorsed the results of several students across various academic programs, including diploma programs, level-upgrading programs, and the Master’s preparatory program.
