PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Abdulkhaliq Mohammed Ahmed Al-Junaid in Population Studies

Mr. Abdulkhaliq Mohammed Ahmed Al-Junaid was awarded a PhD degree in Population Studies for his dissertation titled: The Reality of Implementing Total Quality Management in Developing Job Performance at the Ministry of Civil Service in Light of the National Vision for Building the Modern Yemeni State, which was submitted to the Population Studies and Training Center – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Monday, February 2, 2026.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The dissertation aimed to:
Examine the reality of implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) and its dimensions (leadership and strategic direction, employee participation in decision-making, customer focus, process management and improvement, training and development, measurement and analysis) and its role in developing job performance at the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Development, in light of the National Vision for Building the Modern Yemeni State.
Assess the level of job performance among ministry employees.
Identify statistically significant differences in the study sample’s responses regarding the level of implementation of (TQM, job performance development, and National Vision initiatives) attributable to demographic variables (gender, educational qualification, age group, job title, and years of experience).
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
Ministry employees demonstrated a high level of awareness regarding the importance of implementing TQM and its dimensions, with an overall average of approximately 79% toward achieving quality.
There was a statistically significant effect of TQM on developing job performance, with an impact rate of 64.5%.
There was a statistically significant effect of TQM on implementing the National Vision, with an impact rate of 93.9%.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Establishing a clear linkage between quality standards and performance indicators by developing a job performance evaluation system explicitly aligned with quality criteria.
Strengthening training and development programs that focus on quality management principles.
Integrating National Vision initiatives into daily operational plans.
Promoting ethical and value-based conduct among employees.
Emphasizing the importance of studying individual and group performance behaviors and attitudes.
The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
