The dissertation aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a proposed instructional program based on Rothkopf Model in developing grammatical skills and reading comprehension among high school students in the Capital Secretariat–Sana’a.
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
A statistically significant difference (α ≤ 0.05) was found between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre‑ and post‑tests of grammatical skills, favoring the post‑test results and attributable to the proposed program based on the Rothkopf Model.
A statistically significant difference (α ≤ 0.05) was also revealed between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre‑ and post‑tests of reading comprehension skills, again favoring the post‑test results and attributable to the proposed program.
Statistically significant differences (α ≤ 0.05) were demonstrated between the mean post‑test scores of the experimental and control groups across all research instruments, with all differences favoring the experimental group that studied according to the Rothkopf‑based program.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Benefiting from the proposed Rothkopf-based program in developing grammatical skills and applying it to other stages of general education.
Giving greater attention to developing reading comprehension skills and raising awareness of its strategies across diverse reading texts among secondary school students, incorporating these skills into curricula, and benefiting from the two reading comprehension level frameworks presented in the current study.
The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
