PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Mohammed Yahya Abdullah in Islamic Studies

Mr. Mohammed Yahya Abdullah Al-Akhfash was awarded a PhD degree in Islamic Studies for his dissertation titled: Unity and Collective Adherence to the Bond of Allah and the Methodology of Their Application – Reading of the Qur’anic Project: An Analytical Study, which was submitted to the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The dissertation aimed to investigate the concept of unity and collective adherence in light of the Holy Qur’an through an analytical study that examined the conceptual and methodological foundations of the Qur’anic project, its intellectual and educational dimensions, and the possibilities of its application in contemporary reality. The research adopted analytical and inductive methodolgy within an academic framework.
The findings of the study demonstrated that the Holy Qur’an provides an integrated methodological framework for addressing issues of disagreement and for building social cohesion, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive methodology in understanding the Qur’anic text and the role of leadership guided by methodological principles in achieving intellectual and social stability.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Promoting contemporary Qur’anic studies in postgraduate programs.
Developing educational curricula to enhance scientific awareness.
Reinforcing values of dialogue, integration, and social responsibility
Encouraging academic research related to real societal issues.
The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
