Sana’a University President Chairs Expanded Meeting at Faculty of Medicine to Advance Graduate Programs and Enhance Academic Outcomes

Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, chaired an expanded meeting at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences to discuss the development of graduate programs, the updating of program specifications, and the enhancement of academic and research outcomes. The meeting was held as part of the University’s strategic direction toward strengthening quality standards and achieving institutional excellence.
The meeting brought together the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Hospitals, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, and Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, in addition to members of the Academic Integrity Committee and the Graduate Program Specification Update Team. A number of faculty members and representatives from the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center (ADQAC) also attended.
Discussions addressed a range of academic, administrative, and educational issues, with particular focus on mechanisms for updating graduate program specifications in line with clear academic references and nationally and internationally accredited quality standards. These efforts aim to enhance scientific content, strengthen research and innovation skills, and align programs with emerging developments in medical and health sciences.
During the meeting, the University Rector reaffirmed the University leadership’s commitment to supporting the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in its developmental initiatives. He emphasized that the current phase requires integrated efforts and collaborative teamwork to ensure continuous improvement of program quality and to produce competitive graduates at both the national and regional levels.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti further stressed the importance of advancing research performance, activating the role of academic integrity committees and continuous evaluation mechanisms, and building the capacities of faculty members and teaching assistants, in ways that positively impact students and enhance the quality of educational services provided.
Then, the Dean of the Faculty affirmed the Faculty’s commitment to implementing the directives of the University Presidency and adhering to a defined timeline for completing the update of graduate program specifications. He highlighted the active engagement of academic departments and academic integrity committees in this process, with a view to strengthening program quality and elevating academic and research performance within the Faculty.
This meeting forms part of a series of developmental sessions organized by the University Presidency to modernize academic programs, promote a culture of quality, and achieve a qualitative transformation in the graduate studies system, in line with the University’s mission and its commitment to academic excellence.
