Sana’a University President Discusses Development of Laboratories and Simulation Center at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Completion of Service Projects

Sana’a – February 21, 2026 (Ramadan 4, 1447 Hijri)
Within the framework of Sana’a University’s direction toward enhancing the quality of medical education and developing its infrastructure, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, chaired an expanded meeting attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari; the University Secretary-General, Mr. Iskandar Al-Maqaleh; the Director General of Projects, Eng. Abdulhakim Shamsan; and the Faculty Secretary, Mr. Marwan Al-Mekhlafi. The meeting was dedicated to discussing plans for developing the faculty’s laboratories and the Medical Simulation Center, as well as following up on the implementation of several vital and service-related projects.
The meeting reviewed the key technical and operational needs required to modernize the faculty’s laboratories in line with recent scientific developments and accredited academic standards in medical education. It also addressed the completion of equipment and readiness of the Medical Simulation Center to enable it to play a pivotal role in providing advanced practical training for students, contributing to the refinement of their clinical skills and enhancing their professional competence prior to entering the healthcare field.
Participants further discussed landscaping efforts and improvements to the university environment surrounding the faculty, with the aim to provide a suitable and motivating educational setting that reflects the prestigious image of the academic institution and strengthens its institutional presence at both the local and international levels.
The University Rector affirmed the leadership’s commitment to completing projects based on carefully studied priorities that ensure optimal use of available resources. He stressed that developing laboratories and training centers represents a strategic investment in the quality of medical education outcomes and reflects the university’s commitment to its academic mission and community service.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty explained that the college is moving forward steadily in upgrading its infrastructure and enhancing its educational and training capacities. He praised the Rector’s continued support and close follow-up on the faculty’s needs, which contributed to consolidating its academic standing and advancing the quality of education and training.
