Master’s Degree Awarded to Mr. Abdulaziz Hussein Naif Al-Qashm in Political Science

Mr. Abdulaziz Hussein Ali Naif Al-Qashm was awarded a Master’s Degree in Political Science with an average of excellent and a grade of (95) for his thesis titled: The Impact of Energy Security on Russian–American Relations (2011–2022), which was submitted to the Faculty of Commerce and Economics – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Tuesday, Sha’ban 30, 1447 Hijri, corresponding to February 17, 2026.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The thesis aimed to analyze the impact of energy security in shaping the course of Russian–American relations during the period (2011–2022).
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
Energy security constituted a growing central axis in the dynamics of competition between the two parties.
The shift toward renewable energy did not diminish the centrality of energy in international relations.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Redefining energy security within an integrative framework.
Strengthening risk management mechanisms.
Exploring selective cooperation pathways in clean energy and smart infrastructure sectors.
At end of the defense session, the committee awarded the candidate First Class Honors and recommended that the thesis be printed and translated at the university’s expense and circulated among Arab, local, and international universities.
The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
