Public PhD Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Ehtisab Suliman Saif Alshamiri
The Public Viva-Voce Examination for the PhD Dissertation entitled, “A Proposed Vision for Developing the Physics Curriculum in the Republic of Yemen According to the 2nd Generation Science Standards (NGSS): Its Effectiveness in Developing Future Thinking Skills and Awareness of the Dimensions of Anticipating the Future for 10th-Grade Students”, submitted by Ms. Ehtisab Suliman Saif Alshamiri, Department of Science Curricula & Teaching Methods, Faculty of Education, was held on Tuesday 24/01/1446 Hijri corresponding to 30/07/2024. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed to develop a proposed vision for developing the Physics curriculum in the Republic of Yemen in accordance with the Second-Generation Science Standards (NGSS). It also aimed to measure the effectiveness of a developed unit of the curriculum on developing future thinking skills and awareness of the dimensions of foreseeing the future among tenth-grade female students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the study followed the descriptive approach to analyze the current curriculum, build the proposed vision for the developed curriculum, and develop a new unit based on the science standards for the Second Generation. The experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design was also used, based on designing the experimental and control groups with a pre- and post-measurement, to reveal the effectiveness of teaching the unit developed to provide future thinking skills and awareness of the dimensions of anticipating the future for tenth-grade female students.
The dissertation was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. Then, the Candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy majoring in Physics Curricula & Teaching Methods.
