Saturday Safar 13^th, 1446H, August 17^th, 2024, Candidate researcher/ Alhassan Hadi Hadi AL-HAMZI obtained the Master degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with an Excellent average, Major: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Faculty of dentistry, Sanaa University, for his Master thesis entitled:

Qualitative Assessment of Bone Density in a Newly Formed Bone after Distraction Osteogenesis of the Mandible in Yemeni Patients Using CBCT.

The examining committee was formed of: Professor Dr. Alkasem Mohammed ABBAS, Principle Supervisor and Committee Member, Professor Dr. Taghrid Ahmed AL-KEBSI, Internal Examiner and Head of Committee, and Associate Professor Nashwan Hamid Saleh AL-TAIRY, External Examiner and Committee Member. The dissertation aims at assessing the qualitative bone density in a newly formed bone after DO of mandible by Yemeni patients using CBCT.

The study comes out with some results, of which: there exists significant differences in bone density between distracted and non-distracted sites.

The researcher presents a number of recommendations at the end of this dissertation, of which:

– The need for more studies of such cases with a longer period of follow-up.

–  There should be programs for economical support in order to facilitate executing operations.

Attendees of the session were a number of academics, researchers, students of the major, the researcher’s colleagues and some of family members.
