Joint Engineering Committee Begins Work on Indoor Gymnasium and Football Field Project

A joint engineering committee comprising representatives from Sana’a University and the Ministry of Youth and Sports has commenced work on completing the University’s indoor gymnasium and turfing its football field, following the recent signing of a MoU between the two institutions.
The committee will prepare technical studies and cost estimates for the construction and development works, paving the way for a public tender in accordance with legal procedures. Furthermore, the committee will evaluate potential alternative locations for the football field to facilitate future expansion while adhering to technical specifications and legal requirements.
The project was inaugurated by Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abass, Sana’a University Rector, who emphasized its importance in promoting sports and youth activities, aiming to serve over ninety thousand students. He commended the initiatives led by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al-Mowallad, Minister of Youth and Sports, and expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Youth and Sports Care Fund, particularly in infrastructure development.
This initiative is part of the collaborative efforts between Sana’a University and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to enhance sports and youth activities at the University. The facilities are a priority for the Ministry and align with the program of the recently formed Government of Change and Construction. The MoU formalizing this partnership was signed in mid-October by Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abass and Dr. Mohammed Al-Mowallad.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the Rector’s Advisor for Media Affairs, Engineer Abdulghani Al-Tharehi, General Director of Projects at the University, and Engineer Ahmed Al-Towaiti, General Director of Projects at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
