Public PhD Viva-Voice Examination of Mis. Hana Mansour Ali Aldayani
The Public Viva-Voice Examination for the PhD Dissertation hereto entitled: “The Effectiveness of a Counseling Program to reduce post-traumatic stress disorder among abused children in the capital, Sana’a”, submitted by Mis. Hana Mansour Ali Aldayani Department of Educational Psychology (Child Psychology), Faculty of Education –Sana’a, was held on Wednesday, 25/05/1446 Hijri corresponding to 27/11/2024. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed identifying the effectiveness of a rational, emotional, and behavioral counseling program to alleviate the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder among abused children in the capital, Sana’a.
A quasi-experimental method was used. The sample consisted of (38) children, (19) children in the experimental group and (19) children in the control group. The ages of the sample ranged between (13-14) in the academic year (2023 AD – 1445 AH). The tool used was a measure of post-traumatic stress disorder among children abused prepared by the researcher herself.
The study concluded a set of results as: there is a statistically significant difference at a level of less than (0.05) between the average level of the members of the experimental and control groups on the post-traumatic stress scale of the procedural test after implementing the program. There is statistically significant difference at a level of less than (0.05) between the average of the level of the experimental group in the pre- and post-measurements on the post-expression stress. There is a high effect for the rational emotive behavioral counseling program designed to reduce post-traumatic stress disorder. In light of the results of the study, a set of recommendations and suggestions were suggested.
A number of academics, the department head, some researchers, students, interested people, and a number of the candidates’ colleagues and family members attended the viva.
