Inauguration of the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
Prime Minister Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahawi, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, General Jalal Al-Rowaishan; Sana’a University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari; and Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Khaled Al-Khamisi, inaugurated today the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
During the visit, officials explored the center’s state-of-the-art facilities, featuring advanced equipment and technologies designed to train students in clinical skills. A live demonstration was also conducted to showcase the application of these technologies in clinical simulation.
Prime Minister Al-Rahawi expressed his pride in the progress achieved in medical education, describing the Simulation Center as a groundbreaking development in preparing future doctors. He underscored the importance of supporting such initiatives to enhance the capabilities of the medical workforce in Yemen.
Prof. Al-Kasem M. Abbas, the University Rector, emphasized the center’s role in creating a modern educational environment, providing a safe and controlled environment where students can hone their clinical skills before treating actual patients which, he noted, bolsters students’ confidence in their abilities. He added that this initiative aligns with the university’s broader goals of advancing education to serve Yemen, particularly in the medical sector.
Similarly, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, highlighted the center’s vital contribution to enhancing students’ practical skills that will directly contribute to improving healthcare standards. He stressed that hands-on training is an integral part of the process of medical education and that the center plays a crucial role in fulfilling this requirement.
As the first facility of its kind in Yemen, the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center has been well-equipped by the university to meet top international standards.
