The study aimed at highlighting the efforts of Yemeni interpreters in directing Qur’anic readings in their interpretations, and tracking the places they directed in Surat Al-Baqarah, whether frequent or irregular.
The study concluded a set of findings as: the research highlighted the importance of the science of directing readings in interpreting the Holy Qur’an, in enriching interpretive meanings, giving weight to jurisprudential sayings, diversifying Qura’anic connotations, and repelling objections to the Mighty Book of Allah. It also showed interest that the science of directing Qura’anic readings received among interpretation scholars in Yemen, as their efforts varied across the various fields of guidance: linguistic, grammatical, morphological, rhetorical, semantic, phonetic, and poetry. Moreover, it showed agreement between Yemeni interpreters and guidance scholars – mostly – in their guidance on Qura’anic readings, whether frequent or irregular.
Many recommendations were suggested as: Teaching the science of directing readings within the disciplines of interpretation and Qura’anic sciences, singling them out in special courses, and continuing research into it, especially in the books of Yemeni scholars. 2- Continuing the applied study of the efforts of Yemeni commentators in directing Qura’anic readings for the rest of the surahs of the Holy Qur’an.
