Public PhD Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Yusra Abdulrahman Hajar

The Public Viva-Voce Examination for the PhD Dissertation entitled, “Theoretical Study of Magnetohydrodynamic Waves in Quantum Plasmas”, submitted by Ms. Yusra Abdulrahman Hajar, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, was held on Thursday 02/07/1446 Hijri corresponding to 02/01/2025. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
# | Committee Members | Designation | University | Position |
1 | Prof. Abdu Ahmed Al-Khli | Internal Examiner | Sana’a University | Chair |
2 | Prof. Mahmoud Ahmed Hassan Khalid | Main supervisor | Sana’a University | Member |
3 | Assoc. Prof. Mohammed Ali Saif Ahmed | External examiner | Amran University | Member |
The study aimed to study the propagation of magnetohydrodynamic waves and their characteristics in magnetized quantum plasma, considering the quantum, relativistic, and rotational effects.
The study reached a number of results, including the propagation of three types of magnetohydrodynamic waves in relativistic quantum plasma under the influence of the angular deviation factor. It was also found that the structures and modes of the magnetohydrodynamic waves are significantly affected by the type of quantum plasma medium. System parameters and the forces acting on the system play a key role in generating various types of magnetohydrodynamic waves and their structures. New shock wave modes were observed in relativistic plasma with cylindrical coordinates.
The study came out with a number of recommendations, including the need for further study of the propagation of magnetohydrodynamic waves in the presence of a variable magnetic field, which exists in various astrophysical environments. Additionally, the researcher suggested studying electromagnetic waves and their properties in magnetized quantum plasmas, due to their importance in understanding various physical phenomena in our daily life and astrophysical environments. Such studies also have practical applications in industrial fields, including semiconductor and electronics industries.
Academic members, researchers, students, interested parties and the researcher’s colleagues and family members attended the viva.
The dissertation was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. Then, the Candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of Doctor of Science majoring in Theoretical Physics.
