Sana’a University Wins First Place in Inter-University Scientific Competition for Public and Private Universities

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research today honored Sana’a University for achieving the first rank among 25 public and private universities in the specializations of (Civil and Architectural Engineering) within the competitions of the third inter-university scientific competition organized by the Higher Education Sector in cooperation with Sana’a University.
At the honoring ceremony, the Vice Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research praised the level of participation in the scientific competition among Yemeni universities. He stated, “The honoring comes as a culmination of all competitive activities among a select group of Yemeni universities, according to a program designed to explore the capabilities of university students, highlight their talents, and improve their skills.” Dr. Al-Dois confirmed that the competition would be expanded next academic year to include all scientific fields.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Dhamar University, noted that scientific competitions are among the most important activities for preparing students’ intellectual and physical capabilities, as they enable them to play an active role in the future.
He also indicated that these competitions stem from the objectives of the national vision to activate aspects of scientific activities and competitions in Yemeni universities to motivate youth to be creative and discover their talents.
The two-day competitions, in which 25 public and private universities participated, aimed to motivate students to be creative, develop their intellectual and physical abilities, and discover talents.
At the closing ceremony, attended by the Vice Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Dois, the Assistant Deputy Minister for the Planning Sector, Dr. Elham Al-Sanabani, and concerned parties from the participating public and private universities, the honorary shield was presented to Sana’a University. Prof. Abdullah Al-Maswari, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, received the shield on behalf of the Civil Engineering Department and Dr. Samir Al-Serri, Head of the Architectural Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, received the shield for his department. Participating universities, supporting universities, and sponsors were also honored.
