University Rector Inaugurates Multi-Purpose Conference Hall

Today, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, the University’s Rector, officially opened a special Conference Hall designed to host conferences, academic and student events, and exhibitions, which has been outfitted with cutting-edge technical specifications.
During the inauguration, the University Rector announced that preparations for launching the electronic application and admission process for the 2025/2026 academic year have been completed, and the process is set to begin after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
“We have developed an implementation plan and a structured approach for welcoming our students in the upcoming academic year. Moreover, we have identified potential challenges in the application and admission process and devised appropriate solutions. Entrance test schedules have also been set for faculties that require them, with student numbers estimated based on past enrollment trends in collaboration with the university’s Electronic Testing Center (ETC). Specialized technical teams have been assembled to manage these exams,” the Rector further explained.
Regarding the newly opened Conference Hall, Prof. Abbas highlighted that it has been well-equipped with modern specifications to accommodate conferences, exhibitions, and student celebrations.
As described in the project’s overview, the hall is situated in front of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, near the university’s main gate. Covering an area of over 1,000 square meters, it can host approximately 1,000 attendees. The hall features advanced lighting, sound systems, and aesthetically designed interiors, while also ensuring easy access to parking and additional facilities.
The project engineers incorporated a blend of traditional and contemporary architectural styles in both the interior and exterior, ensuring proper ventilation, natural lighting, and the potential for future expansion and upgrades to meet evolving needs.
The inauguration was attended by the university’s vice-rectors, assistants, faculty deans, and several university staff members.
