Sana’a University Leads Nationally in EduRank and Advances Regionally and Globally

Sana’a University has achieved the top ranking locally among 43 universities and higher education institutions in Yemen, according to the British EduRank global university classification. Internationally, the university secured the 5,341st position among 14,131 universities and institutions worldwide and ranked 1,950th out of 5,830 institutions in Asia.
The EduRank classification is based on three key factors. Research performance, which accounts for 45% of the ranking, is assessed by using open databases that track the number of citations and publications affiliated with the university. Another 45% factor is based on non-academic reputation, measured through search engines like Google by evaluating the university’s online presence and the number of external sites linking to its official webpage. The last 10% factor considers alumni influence, determined by the number of Wikipedia pages referencing the university’s graduates, notable figures, and affiliated individuals across multiple languages.
In celebration of this milestone, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, Sana’a University Rector, extended his congratulations to all members of the university for their ongoing academic and research achievements. He highlighted the university’s strong performance in global ranking indicators, including Webometrics and ScholarGPS in the past year.
Prof. Abbas emphasized that Sana’a University boasts highly qualified faculty members capable of securing even higher positions in international rankings. He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to continuous improvement and advancement in these rankings.
He further noted that this progress reflects the university’s ongoing development efforts in recent years, its commitment to implementing top-tier academic, educational, and media practices, and its strong support for scientific research.
