Conclusion of the 36th Scientific Conference for Discussing Graduation Research Projects at the Faculty of Medicine, Sana’a University

The proceedings of the 36th Scientific Conference for the discussion of graduation research projects by the 36th Class of Physicians who have graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University concluded today in Sana’a.
Over five days, the conference examined 44 peer-reviewed scientific research papers presented by 430 male and female students from the Faculty of Medicine. These studies, supervised by a group of consultants, academics, and senior professors from the Faculty of Medicine, covered various health fields, including therapeutic, preventive, and chronic issues, proposing scientifically-based recommendations and solutions.
At the closing ceremony, the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, congratulated the students of the 36th Batch from the Faculty of Medicine on their graduation and the successful completion of their Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program requirements, particularly amidst the current circumstances facing the country. He praised the high-quality research and outcomes presented during the conference.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti affirmed the university’s commitment to continuing the development and modernization process, through which the university has made significant strides despite the current exceptional circumstances. He noted that medical faculties will be among the top priorities, with a special focus on improving the performance quality in faculties, laboratories, workshops, and maintenance, as well as providing the required materials and facilities for the educational process.
The recently appointed rector further explained that priorities will also be given to new, specialized disciplines demanded by the labor market, based on well-studied plans with the necessary physical infrastructure and specialized teaching staff.
For their part, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Conference Chairman, and Dr. Adel Al-Emad, Head of the Community Medicine Department, highlighted the achievements of the Faculty of Medicine in obtaining the national institutional and programmatic accreditation, in particular, and the other university faculties in general. They emphasized the ongoing efforts in the field of quality assurance to ensure standards befitting the Faculty of Medicine and its high-quality outcomes, both locally and regionally.
They highlighted the importance of scientific research and its role in finding solutions and treatments for health and developmental problems. They noted the quality outcomes of the Faculty of Medicine and the high caliber of research papers discussed at the conference, covering areas such as preventive and therapeutic medicine (especially chronic diseases), psychological, behavioral, and occupational health, as well as gynecological and pregnancy-related problems.
Finally, the preparatory committee honored the University Rector, the Faculty Dean, and the Head of the Community Medicine Department with shields and certificates of appreciation. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to heads of departments, faculty members, the preparatory committee, and officials of the University Student Forum at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
