Sana’a – Wednesday, April 30, 2025 | 2 Dhul Qa’dah 1446 AH
As part of his inspection tours to various facilities of the university, Sana’a University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, paid an inspection visit today to the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center (ADQAC) to review progress, evaluate performance, and recognize ongoing efforts in advancing the university’s educational standards.
Accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Muta’a, and the Rector’s Assistant for Centers’ Affairs, Prof. Zaid Al-Wareeth, the University Rector extended his sincere appreciation to the former university Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, for his significant contributions to the development of the educational process through the ADQAC.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also extended his appreciation to the center’s dean, vice-deans for quality affairs across the university faculties, and all team members of the center for their fruitful efforts in improving the quality of university education across all fields. He urged them to continue their work, sustain progress in academic and research activities, and strengthen cooperation with regional and international peer institutions to drive continuous development.
During the visit, the University Rector directed ADQAC, in coordination with the Vice-Dean for Quality at the Faculty of Medicine, to submit a detailed and time-bound plan for finalizing the required documentation for obtaining the international accreditation of the Medicine and Surgery program. The reviewed plan is to be submitted to the Rector’s Office by next Saturday morning.
Furthermore, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also ordered the formation of a committee comprising Prof. Abdulwahab Al-Nono (Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Quality Affairs) and Prof. Mahdi Haidar (Vice Dean of the Faculty of Media for Quality Affairs), to investigate the reasons behind the non-activation of the electronic library at the Faculty of Engineering, which is fully equipped to support educational and research activities. A report outlining the obstacles is to be submitted promptly.
He urged all faculties to expedite the submission of reports on the conformity between study plans and student records in the SAR electronic system within a week, to address any discrepancies. The final versions should be submitted to the ADQAC and the University Rector’s Office to ensure all records comply with the university council’s approved study plans.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti commended the Center for its vital role in updating and enhancing academic programs and curricula at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels to enhance education, research, and community service.
During the visit, the Dean of the Center, Prof. Huda Al-Emad, presented an overview of recent achievements, most notably the successful institutional and programmatic accreditation of all academic programs across Sana’a University by the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance (CAQA). She also noted the center’s collaboration with relevant faculties— the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology —to obtain international accreditation.
Prof. Aref Al-Hammadi, the center’s Vice Dean, pointed out the importance of leveraging free academic database subscriptions provided to developing countries, including Yemen, enabling access to the latest research and studies published in international journals.
The visit concluded with the University Rector touring the Center’s library, which houses extensive documentation files, self-assessment reports, and program specification booklets submitted by various faculties and research centers as part of the quality assurance process.
