Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, convened a meeting today at the university’s main campus in Sana’a, with the administrators of faculty and research center websites to discuss strategies for enhancing media performance and operational efficiency.
During the meeting, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti highlighted the vital role of media in reflecting the identity of the university. He emphasized that media practices must uphold the highest standards of professionalism, credibility, and integrity—particularly given the university’s status as a prestigious national institution and a symbol of academic expertise for all Yemenis.
He affirmed that Sana’a University continues to maintain a strong presence on the global academic stage, with its faculty and graduates recognized for their excellence. This international reputation, he noted, necessitates a concerted effort to further elevate performance and competitiveness through effective media strategies that highlight the university’s capabilities by delivering high-quality content to its audience.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti stated that the performance of both individual faculty websites and the university’s main platform will undergo continuous evaluation to identify areas for improvement, address deficiencies, and build on progress made—especially since 2019.
He urged greater focus on documenting scientific, research-based, and innovative activities in a way that ensures long-term benefit and visibility. He also underscored the importance of publishing high-quality content, including peer-reviewed research, scholarly publications, high-resolution images, videos, and outstanding digital content—as these elements are essential for advancing the university’s academic ranking.
The University Rector directed the development of a Media Priorities Matrix, aimed at spotlighting scientific research, academic initiatives, and related activities. The matrix will also emphasize the university’s robust infrastructure and resources, which serve as critical assets in reinforcing its global competitiveness.
Additionally, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti called for the organization of a dedicated training workshop for website administrators to enhance their skills, improve task execution, and address any deficiencies in performance.
Concluding the meeting, he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the website administrators despite the country’s challenging circumstances, stating: “We value your efforts and encourage you to continue with renewed dedication and a strong sense of national responsibility, in service of our university and our great country.”
For his part, Mr. Adel Al-Habbabi, the Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs, praised Prof. Al-Bukhaiti’s commitment to advancing the university’s media sector and his active support in overcoming the challenges facing this critical aspect, which serves as the primary interface between the university’s scientific and research capabilities, the local community, and global academic ranking bodies.
During the meeting, the University Rector also listened to feedback and suggestions regarding current media operations presented by the website and social media administrators. He instructed that these inputs be thoroughly reviewed and implemented, where possible, in support of the university’s strategic mission as Yemen’s leading academic institution and in service of the broader national interest.
