Master’s Degree Awarded to Researcher Najla Abdulmoneim from the Inclusive Development Research Center

Researcher Najla Abdulmoneim Mohammed Abdullah Alamri has earned a Master’s degree with honors in International Development Studies from the Inclusive Development Research Centet , IDRC, at Sana’a University. Her thesis, titled “The Impact of Life Skills on Self-Realization and Achievement Motivation Among Children: the Disadvantaged Bilal’s Grands in Sana’a Secretariate , Yemen”.
The Viva voce took place on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The panel of evaluation consisted of:
* Assistant Professor Sukaina Ahmed Hashem, internal examiner and committee chairperson.
* Assistant Professor Abdulwahab Yahya Abdulqader, supervisor, member.
* Assistant Professor Taha Naji Alawbali, external examiner and member.

The study aimed to explore the relationship between the level of life skills, such as psychological resilience, problem-solving, communication and connection, respect for different viewpoints, participation, and creative thinking, and self-realization and achievement motivation among children from the diadvantaged Bilal’s grands category.

The study revealed several key findings, most notably: that the level of life skills among children in the “Bilal’s Grands’ category was high, with a tangible positive impact on their self-realization and achievement motivation.

In her thesis, the researcher offered several recommendations, the most prominent of which include:
* strengthening training programs that focus on developing life skills for children in this category, which contributes to raising their level of psychological and social adaptation.
* the necessity of providing realistic opportunities for children to practice life skills scientifically, which enhances their motivation towards achievement and self-realization.

The viva defence was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, interested individuals, as well as the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
