Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University Holds Regular Meeting of Academic Accreditation Committees

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University held its regular meeting today for the academic accreditation committees of the Medicine and Surgery Program, chaired by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector.
At the start of the meeting, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti praised the exceptional efforts of the Faculty’s administration, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, emphasizing the importance of continuing diligent work to fulfill the requirements for international academic accreditation from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). He stressed the need to align with global academic standards to ensure high-quality medical education that keeps pace with rapid advancements in the field and meets the evolving demands of the healthcare sector.
Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the University Rector and affirmed that the meeting represents a crucial step toward enhancing the quality of medical education and developing academic programs in line with international accreditation requirements.
The meeting addressed several key topics, including the evaluation of current academic programs and the discussion of proposed mechanisms to meet accreditation standards. A number of decisions were made to support ongoing efforts in this direction.
Prof. Saleh Bahaj, the external coordinator for academic accreditation, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the progress achieved so far and reviewed the detailed implementation plan aimed at attaining the targeted goals for international accreditation.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Huda Al-Emad, Dean of the University’s Academic Development & Quality Assurance Center; Prof. Ahmed Mujahed, Vice Dean for Quality Affairs; as well as heads of accreditation standards committees, department chairs, and several faculty members.
