Sana’a University Rector Emphasizes Financial Integrity and Resource Preservation

Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, underscored the crucial importance of financial adherence and safeguarding university resources. His remarks came during a meeting with cashiers, procurement managers, and officials responsible for assets and laboratories within the university.
During the gathering, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti highlighted the pivotal roles these positions play in preserving the university’s resources and regulating its financial and administrative operations. He stressed their essential contribution to ensuring transparency and sound management.
The University Rector noted that cashiers and procurement managers are responsible for executing purchasing operations in accordance with laws and regulations, thereby achieving efficiency and preventing fund waste. Meanwhile, officials in charge of assets and laboratories bear the responsibility of maintaining educational and research equipment, ensuring their sustainability for the benefit of students and researchers.
During the meeting, which was attended by University Secretary-General Mr. Eskandar Al-Maqaleh and Accounts Manager, Mr. Faiz Saeed (representing the Director-General of Financial Affairs), Prof. Al-Bukhaiti issued directives for strict adherence to documentary and legal procedures in expenditures, asset clearance, and obtaining price quotations. This, he emphasized, is crucial for guaranteeing transparency and the integrity of financial performance.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti further stressed the importance of providing and renewing commercial guarantees for those entrusted with these tasks. This measure aims to mitigate any potential future issues and ensure institutional discipline in the management of public funds and property.
The meeting concluded by reaffirming that the financial integrity and the effectiveness of administrative work originates from these vital positions. These roles deserve continuous appreciation, support, and continuous training due to their significant impact on enhancing the confidence of both the community and regulatory bodies in the university’s performance efficiency and transparency.
