Public PhD Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Nassirah Abduljalil Hamid Al-Areeqi

The Public Viva-Voce Examination for the PhD Dissertation hereto entitled, The Level of Application of Human Resources Management Processes and its Relationship to Quality of Work Life in Yemeni Private Universities through Job Empowerment, submitted by Ms. Nassirah Abduljalil Hamid Al-Areeqi, to the Department of Educational Administration and Planning at the Faculty of Education, Sana’a University, was held on Tuesday, Dhu al-Qa’dah 29, 1446 Hijri, corresponding to May 27, 2025. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

This dissertation aimed to explore the mediating role of job empowerment dimensions in the relationship between the level of application of human resources management processes and the availability of quality of work life in Yemeni private universities.
The dissertation reached several key findings, including:
- The level of application of human resources management processes in the surveyed Yemeni private universities was found to be of a medium application accuracy.
- There were no statistically significant differences in the opinions of the research sample based on variables such as gender, job title, academic qualification, or years of experience across all research axes.
- Statistically significant differences were observed in the opinions of the research sample regarding the “university size” variable across all research axes, with the differences favoring four specific faculties.
The dissertation concluded with several key recommendations, including:
- Strengthening human resource management policies and procedures in universities, particularly concerning HR planning and development through training and development programs, performance evaluation, and providing necessary funding.
- Improving the physical environment and working conditions for employees, and developing specific programs to enhance the quality of work life in universities to ensure job satisfaction and stability in the work environment.
The PhD dissertation was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The PhD defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested students, the candidate’s colleagues, and family members.
