This dissertation aimed to investigate the impact of utilizing McCarthy’s 4Mat model on the academic achievement and mental motivation of 11th grade students.
The research yielded several key findings, including:
- The effectiveness of McCarthy’s model in teaching mathematics for enhancing both achievement and mental motivation among 11th grade students.
- There is a statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control and experimental groups in the post-application of the achievement test.
- There is a statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control and experimental groups in the post-application of the mental motivation scale across its four dimensions.
- There is a statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre- and post-application of the mental motivation scale.
The dissertation recommended that the developed program in this research should be utilized for teaching other units within mathematics curricula for different grade levels.
The PhD dissertation was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The PhD defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested students, the candidate’s colleagues, and family members.
