The Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obad, and the Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, inspected today the progress of the asphalting work on the main road of Sana’a University campus. The project, which costs 103 million Yemeni Riyals, is jointly funded by Sana’a University and the Capital Secretariat through the General Administration of Community Initiatives.
Dr. Obad and Prof. Al-Bukhaiti, accompanied by the Director of Initiative Projects at the Capital Secretariat, Eng. Ahmed Al-Mashriqi, and the directors of Ma’een and Al-Wahda districts, Abdulmalik Al-Radhi and Sami Humaid respectively, were briefed on the progress of the project by the Deputy Head of the Executive Unit for the Establishment, Maintenance, and Development of Public Places, Eng. Ali Muharraqah and the project manager.
They explained that the first phase includes compacting and asphalting the damaged parts of the road and adding a layer of asphalt to the entire main road to improve the university’s infrastructure and facilitate traffic flow. They noted that an asphalt layer of 1,800 meters was laid today on the northern side of the road, following the paving of the other “southern” side last week.
The Mayor of the Capital and the University Rector praised the level of cooperation and partnership in implementing this project, given its service importance to the university and surrounding areas.
