Sana’a University Launches Four New Labs and Six Classrooms at the Faculty of Computer Science & IT

Sana’a University has completed the setup and operation of four new laboratories and six classrooms at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, coinciding with celebrations of the Prophet’s Birthday 1447 Hijri.
University Rector Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti stated that the new facilities include four computer labs, each equipped with 25 computers (100 in total), along with six newly furnished classrooms accommodating 90 students each.
He highlighted that these achievements were completed in just six weeks through self-financing, as part of the university’s strategic plan to position itself among the leading regional universities and to serve as the country’s foremost center of expertise.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti noted that since its establishment in 2007, the Faculty of Computer Science & IT has expanded its academic programs to include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Multimedia, and has recently introduced master’s and doctoral programs in these fields, making infrastructure expansion a pressing need.
He emphasized that Sana’a University, as one of the country’s oldest academic institutions, continues to provide a distinguished learning environment, maintain leadership in education and research locally and regionally, and leverage its pool of top scholars and experts to compete for higher global rankings.
The university currently offers around 250 postgraduate programs (Master’s and PhD) and contributes significantly to sustainable development by fostering quality higher education and advanced research.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also called on the Ministry of Telecommunications to support programs in Cybersecurity, Data science, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Systems, stressing the ministry’s key role in managing and developing the technology sector, safeguarding cyberspace, and enhancing national information security.
