PhD Degree Awarded to Ms. Ibtisam Al-Hindi in Educational Psychology

Ms. Ibtisam Mohammed Mahmoud Abdulkarim Al-Hindi was awarded a PhD degree in Educational Psychology for her dissertation titled: The Effectiveness of a Meaning-Centered Counseling Program in Enhancing Psychological Flow and Spiritual Intelligence among Adolescent Girls in Social Care Homes in the Capital Secretariat – Sana’a, which was submitted to the department of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The dissertation primarily aimed to assess the effectiveness of a meaning-centered counseling program in developing psychological flow and spiritual intelligence among adolescent girls in social care institutions in the Capital Secretariat – Sana’a.
The Study yielded the following key finding:
- The counseling program based on meaning-centered therapy proved effective in enhancing psychological flow and spiritual intelligence among the targeted group, with sustained impact even after the follow-up period.
The researcher concluded her dissertation with the following key recommendations:
- Strengthening collaboration between social care institutions and educational bodies to improve the mental health of adolescent girls.
- Providing supportive environments within social care homes to help adolescent girls develop psychological flow, spiritual intelligence, and a sense of meaning and hope.
- Incorporating meaning-centered therapy into the counseling and educational curricula of social care institutions and schools to support adolescents’ psychological development.
The dissertation defense was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
