Sana’a University Concludes Celebratory and Honoring Activities with Central Festival Commemorating the Prophet’s Birth Anniversary

Sana’a University brought its top-ranking students’ honoring events and commemorative activities for the Prophet’s Birth Anniversary to a close today with a central festival attended by a distinguished gathering of academic leaders and scholars. The event was attended by his excellency, Allama Mohammed Mohammed Muftah, the Acting Prime Minister; Prof. Hatem Al-Dois, the Vice Minister of Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, the University Rector; along with vice rectors, faculty deans, academic staff, and a large number of students and employees.
In his address, the Acting Prime Minister emphasized the importance of knowledge and education in advancing Yemen’s renaissance, commending Yemeni universities for their efforts in preparing qualified professionals capable of contributing to industrial, economic, and agricultural development. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting education and easing procedures for academics and students to complete their research and pursue future aspirations despite the country’s economic challenges.
University Rector Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti welcomed the attendees and expressed appreciation for the dedication of faculty members, administrative staff, and students in making all university events and activities a success. He stressed that the occasion provides an opportunity to uphold human and moral values inspired by the Prophet Mohammed’s biography while also motivating continued creativity and innovation across scientific disciplines.
He further urged students to remain diligent and persistent, affirming that the university will continue to serve as a beacon of knowledge and research, and a pioneering institution dedicated to community service through its competent academic staff and student potential, which characterizes a true force for shaping the future.
The event program included a poem delivered by the University Rector’s Advisor, the poet Abdulsalam Al-Mutamayiz, as well as a significant operetta presented by the “21 September Troupe,” which received warm acclaim from the audience.
The festival also featured several speeches highlighting the university’s role in advancing knowledge and education and stressing the importance of sustaining efforts to strengthen teaching and research despite ongoing challenges. Attendees commended the high level of participation and engagement witnessed throughout the two-week activities held across faculties and scientific centers, culminating in this central celebration.
