Sana’a University Launches First Media Training Course for 1447 AH Within Professional Development Program for University Media Administrators

Sana’a University launched today its first training course for website administrators from various faculties and centers for the academic year 1447 AH. The program, held under the patronage of University Rector Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, brings together forty-two trainees. The course forms part of the university’s continuing initiative to enhance media skills, following three successful courses conducted last year.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs, underscored the significance of the course, which centers on essential topics such as news writing, publication design, and photography. He noted the Rector’s strong commitment to improving the capabilities of staff responsible for electronic platforms and social media pages, and his directives to organize specialized training sessions to elevate media quality and ensure the efficient and accurate dissemination of information.
Mr. Al-Hababi stressed the importance of sustaining the progress made in university media, pointing out that the university now operates dozens of websites and hundreds of social media pages that have become essential platforms for showcasing the university’s accomplishments to the community. He further noted that the university’s official website remains the primary source consulted by international ranking organizations when evaluating Sana’a University’s international standing. The university’s recent advancements in global rankings, he added, reflect the excellence of its academic, administrative, postgraduate, and research services, noting that these successes must be preserved and further developed. He emphasized that the skills taught in this course represent the foundation of effective university media, enabling precise and professional coverage of events and the creation of modern, high-quality content that enhances the University’s media presence.
He added that university media plays a crucial role in raising student awareness, supporting the educational process, showcasing scientific research and innovation, and presenting a positive national image of Yemeni universities and their ability to serve society.
This Training course includes three daily sessions delivered by Dr. Ali Al-Ammar, Head of the Journalism Department at the Faculty of Media; Mr. Majed Aslan, Head of the Graphics Department at the Computer Center; and photographer Fouad Al-Harazi, with the participation of media administrators from academic and research faculties and centers to strengthen their skills and develop a more professional and effective university media environment.
