PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Yahya Ali Al-Manaei in Science Curricula and Teaching Methods

Mr. Yahya Ali Yahya Al-Manaei was awarded a PhD degree in Science Curricula and Teaching Methods for his dissertation titled: The Effectiveness of a Proposed Program Based on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Developing Teaching and Decision-Making Skills among Biology Department Students at the Faculty of Education, Sana’a University, which was submitted to the Department of Science Curricula and Teaching Methods, Faculty of Education – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Monday, December 15, 2025.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study primarily aimed to measure the effectiveness of the proposed program, designed as an adaptive learning environment based on artificial intelligence applications, in developing the cognitive and performance aspects of teaching performance skills and decision-making skills among Biology Department students at the Faculty of Education, Sana’a University.
The main findings of the study are summarized as follows:
The study identified a set of essential teaching performance skills required for designing adaptive learning environments based on artificial intelligence applications, which Biology Department students must master, alongside decision-making skills.
The results demonstrated a positive impact of the proposed training program on enhancing both the cognitive and practical dimensions of teaching performance skills among the study sample (fourth-year female Biology students).
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended:
Adopting a systematic plan for continuous training and professional preparation programs that integrate artificial intelligence applications into university teaching in Yemen, given their proven effectiveness in improving student-teachers’ cognitive and performance competencies and decision-making abilities.
Introducing Biology Department students at the Faculty of Education, Sana’a University, to key artificial intelligence applications required for designing adaptive learning environments, and evaluating their effectiveness in developing teaching performance and decision-making skills.
Establishing clear ethical principles governing the use of artificial intelligence applications in educational processes and curriculum development, as artificial intelligence technologies have become an unavoidable reality in contemporary education.
The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
