Sana’a University President Receives Minister of Public Health and Environment, Reviews Readiness of Central Laboratories Center at Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment

Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, the Rector of Sana’a University, today received his excellency, the Minister of Public Health and Environment, Prof. Ali Abdulkarim Shaiban. The two conducted an inspection visit to the Central Laboratories Center at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment to review the level of technical readiness and the progress of operations at the center.
They were welcomed by Dr. Adel Al-Washali, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Mansour Al-Dhobhani, Director of the Central Laboratories Center, along with a number of administrative and technical staff. During the visit, the University Rector and the Minister reviewed the laboratories’ technical preparedness, the ongoing completion of laboratory outfitting, and the mechanisms for operating modern laboratory equipment in accordance with approved technical standards, in a way that enhances scientific research, supports the educational process, and meets the needs of university faculties and relevant external entities.
In his remarks, the University Rector stressed the importance of concerted efforts and teamwork to ensure the full operation of all center equipment, highlighting the positive impact on university students, particularly graduate students. He explained that these facilities will serve several entities, including the General Authority for Drugs, Standards, and Metrology, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, noting that the Ministry of Public Health is a key partner in this project and that the center forms part of the national health system following the Ministry’s contribution to its equipping.
The Minister of Public Health and Environment expressed his pleasure to visit Sana’a University, affirming his academic ties to the institution where he completed his studies. He emphasized the need for close cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure efficient laboratory operation, underscoring that the equipment constitutes state assets and must be optimally utilized to serve the community and strengthen scientific research.
