Sana’a University Council Approves Application and Admission Policy for the Forthcoming Academic Year 1448 AH (2026–2027)

At its seventh regular meeting for the academic year 1447 AH, the Sana’a University Council approved the application and admission policy for the regular, parallel, and self-financed study systems for the forthcoming academic year 1448 AH (2026–2027). The meeting was held at the office of the University Rector in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a, and chaired by the Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti. It was attended by the vice rectors, the Rector’s assistants, and the deans of faculties.
During the meeting, the Council approved the following resolutions:
1. Adoption of the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) system for faculty members and postgraduate supervisors to encourage healthy competition and establish yearly financial and moral recognition awards for distinguished faculty members.
2. Approval of the Bachelor’s degree program in Insurance and Risk Management at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
3. Ratification of the final tenure for 19 faculty members and teaching assistants across various faculties.
4. Approving the adjustment of the academic status of two teaching assistants holding master’s degrees.
5. Approval of the promotion of two faculty members from the post of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor.
6. Authorization of hourly teaching contracts for 23 instructors in the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.
7. Approval of research publication incentives for eight scholars whose work appeared in internationally peer-reviewed indexed journals.
8. Authorization of tuition-free placements for two students from community colleges.
9. Approval of the executive implementation mechanism for the MD doctoral program regulations at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in compliance with existing bylaws.
10. Approval of postgraduate specialization tracks in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, as follows:
• Developmental Psychology
• Social Psychology
• Personality Psychology and Psychological Assessment
• Counseling and Psychological Support
11. Approval of postgraduate specialization tracks in the Arabic and English Language Departments at the Faculty of Languages, as follows:
• Arabic Language tracks:
Linguistics: Linguistics; Grammar and Morphology
Literature: Literature and Criticism; Rhetoric
• English Language tracks:
Linguistics; English Literature; Translation
12. Approval of the Grade Enhancement Diploma in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering.
13. Approval of the study plan for the Grade Enhancement Diploma in four departments at the Faculty of Dentistry:
• Department of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, Diagnosis, and Oral Radiology
• Department of Prosthodontics
• Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Department of Conservative Dentistry
14. Approval of the study plan for the Non-Specialists Diploma in the Department of Statistics and Information at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
15. Approval of Grade Enhancement courses for Statistics graduates seeking admission to the MA Program in Statistics and Information at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
16. Approval of Grade Enhancement courses in the Departments of Political Science and Accounting at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
17. Approval of Grade Enhancement courses for MA programs in the Department of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
18. Approval of the official naming of the (MA) Supplementary Regulations in the Department of Economics and Finance, as well as the Non-Specialists Diploma at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
19. Approval of results for 60 students enrolled in MA and PhD programs across various faculties and scientific and research centers.
20. Approval of results for 47 students in Diploma, Grade Enhancement Diploma, and Non-Specialists Diploma programs.
21. Approval of the Arabic/English program titles of specializations offered by the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences.
22. Approval of course titles for batches (41–42) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, including assigned credit hours and maximum grade limits, following Faculty Council recommendations.
23. Approval of course titles for batches (37–40) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, including assigned credit hours and maximum grade limits, following Faculty Council recommendations.
24. Approval of graduates’ lists from the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Sharia and Law, the Faculty of Education–Arhab, the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the Faculty of Languages, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Education–Khawlan.
The Council further discussed and deliberated on a range of academic and student-related matters, issued the necessary resolutions, reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting, and approved them.
