Master’s Degree Awarded to Mr. Abdulrahman Sultan Al-Malih in Economics

Mr. Abdulrahman Sultan Ahmed Al-Malih was awarded a Master’s Degree in Economics with an average of excellent and a grade of (94) for his thesis titled: The Role of Electronic Payment Methods in Enhancing Financial Inclusion and Their Impact on Banking Performance in Yemen, which was submitted to the Faculty of Commerce and Economics – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study primarily aimed to examine the role of electronic payment methods in enhancing financial inclusion, as well as to identify their effects on banking performance in Yemen.
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
Electronic payment methods have a significant positive effect on financial inclusion.
Financial inclusion has a significant positive effect on banking performance.
Electronic payment methods have a significant positive effect on banking performance.
Based on these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Adopting a general national approach and launching joint awareness and promotional campaigns by the government and the private sector to disseminate, adopt, and activate electronic payment services nationwide.
Encouraging investors in the field of financial technology (FinTech) by providing incentives and advantages.
Establishing a comprehensive legal and regulatory environment that adequately addresses all aspects related to electronic payment.
The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
