Sana’a University Council Approves 1st International Conference on Smart Engineering Technologies

Sana’a – Saturday, 31 January 2026, corresponding to 12 Sha’ban 1447 AH
Sana’a University Council approved the holding of the First International Conference on Smart, Reliable, Emerging, and Sustainable Engineering Technologies, scheduled for December of this year. The decision was made during the Council’s 8th regular meeting, held today at the Rector’s office in Sana’a and chaired by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of the University.
The meeting, attended by the University’s Vice Rectors, Rector’s assistants, and Deans of the faculties, also approved the recommendations of the committee assigned to assess the University’s actual academic staffing needs. The Council emphasized the University’s financial and administrative independence and reaffirmed its right to announce academic requirements and conduct annual appointments directly and periodically.
The Council requested the Ministry of Civil Service to issue the necessary resolutions regarding the University’s appointment decisions in line with its essential needs.
In addition, the Council approved the recommendations of the Scientific Research Committee to grant publication awards to five researchers in recognition of their contributions.
The Council also approved renaming the University’s newspaper from Risalat Al-Maktabat to Sana’a University Newspaper, which will be issued monthly to cover the University’s news, achievements, and activities.
Other approvals included the launch of the MA program in Anesthesia at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, and the ratification of the study plans for the non-specialized diploma in the Department of Political Science and the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, including a Grade Enhancement program for the latter.
The Council further endorsed the results of 61 PhD and MA students in various disciplines across the university and approved graduation lists for the Faculties of Education in Sana’a, Arhab, and Al-Jawf, as well as the Faculty of Sharia and Law.
During the meeting, the Council also discussed a range of topics related to academic affairs, student affairs, postgraduate studies, and the University’s centers, issuing proper resolutions on each matter.
The meeting began with the review and approval of the minutes from the previous meeting.
