Sana’a University Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council Holds 8th Regular Meeting

The Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council at Sana’a University convened its eighth regular meeting for the academic year 1447 AH (2025–2026) chaired by Prof. Fares Mohammed Al-Qadri, the Vice Rector’s Assistant for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research. The meeting was attended by Vice Deans for Graduate Studies from various faculties, as well as representatives of scientific and research centers.
The Council commenced its session by reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting, before proceeding to discuss a range of academic and administrative matters listed on the agenda. Among its key decisions was the approval of a Master’s Program in Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Education, in addition to endorsing three specialized tracks within the same faculty: Educational Supervision, School Administration, and Educational Administration and Planning.
The Council also reviewed the status of students who had discontinued their enrollment in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and took the necessary regulatory measures in accordance with approved bylaws. Furthermore, it examined a number of scholarship nomination requests and extensions for postgraduate students.
In the area of research registration and academic evaluation, the Council approved the registration of 11 doctoral dissertation titles and 20 Master’s thesis titles. It also endorsed the results of the viva voce examinations of eight doctoral dissertations and ten Master’s theses. Moreover, the Council approved the results of students enrolled in several academic programs, including diploma programs, academic upgrading tracks, and Master’s preparatory programs. A number of internal scholarships for teaching assistants and lecturers to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees were also ratified.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing graduate programs and elevating the standard of scientific research in a manner that enhances the quality of academic outcomes and serves the broader community.
