Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms Naseem Al-Sharafi in Public Relations and Advertising

Ms. Naseem Ahmed Mohammed Al-Sharafi was awarded a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Advertising with an average of Excellent, a grade of (95), and First Class Honors for her thesis titled: Persuasive Techniques Used in Advertisements of Yemeni and International Companies on YouTube: A Comparative Analytical Study, which was submitted to the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Faculty of Mass Communication – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The thesis aimed to identify the persuasive techniques used in advertisements of Yemeni and international companies on YouTube platform.
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
The persuasion technique of justification ranked first in advertisements of Yemeni companies.
The use of multiple persuasive techniques ranked first in advertisements of international companies (Jordanian and British).
There are statistically significant differences between Yemeni and international company advertisements regarding the persuasive techniques employed.
At the end of the defense session, the MA Viva-voce Committee recommended inter-university exchange of the researcher’s thesis.
The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues from the Faculty of Mass Communication, and the researcher’s family.
