Sana’a University Hosts Second Extraordinary Meeting of Committees for the Fourth National Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition 2026

Sana’a University hosted today the Second Extraordinary Joint Meeting of the 4th National Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition 2026 committees, chaired by Mr. Adel Bader, Acting Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water and Chairman of the Conference.
The meeting approved a series of executive measures designed to quicken preparations for the conference and exhibition. Key decisions included endorsing the minutes of the previous extraordinary meeting, reviewing the preliminary exhibition site designs, assigning the Scientific Committee to commence preparation of the conference’s scientific papers and secure the necessary financial resources, and authorizing the Chairman of the Executive Preparatory Committee to undertake additional executive responsibilities to complete the remaining organizational and technical arrangements.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Sam Al-Bashiri, Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, and First Vice Chairman of the Conference; Eng. Ahmed Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water for the Electricity Sector and Chairman of the Executive Preparatory Committee; Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University and member of the Conference’s Higher Supervisory Committee; Sheikh Mohammed Mohammed Salah, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Yemen Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FYCCI), Vice Chairman of Sana’a Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat, and Second Vice Chairman of the Conference; Prof. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al-Arshi, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Preparatory Committee and Chairman of the Scientific Committee; Eng. Shaif Mohammed Jarallah, Vice Chairman of the Executive Preparatory Committee and Acting Chairman of the Organizing Committee; Dr. Adel Rawei’, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Sana’a University and member of the Scientific Committee; Dr. Mohammed Raweh, General Director of Investment at the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water and Conference Coordinator; the representative of the Faculty of Agriculture at Sana’a University on the Organizing Committee; Eng. Abdulkhaleq Al-Jamrah, member of the Finance Committee and representative of the FYCCI on the Organizing Committee; and Eng. Osama Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, General Director of the Office of the University Rector.
Welcoming the participants, the University Rector praised the dedicated efforts of the various committees working to ensure the success of the conference and exhibition. He reaffirmed Sana’a University’s full commitment to supporting this important national initiative through its extensive academic and research expertise, emphasizing the University’s leading role in advancing scientific research and linking research outcomes with national development priorities and community needs.
The Rector noted that the achievements of the 3rd National Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition, held in 2023, provide a strong foundation for further progress. He expressed confidence that the fourth edition would deliver even higher standards of scientific excellence and organizational quality while fostering innovation and expanding collaboration among universities, government institutions, and the private sector in support of Yemen’s transition toward greater utilization of renewable energy.
Conference Chairman Mr. Adel Bader emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts during the coming phase and adhering to the established implementation timetable to ensure the successful organization of a national conference and exhibition that reflects Yemen’s growing commitment to renewable energy while showcasing research and investment opportunities in this strategic sector.
The meeting also reviewed and approved several agenda items, including the minutes of the previous extraordinary meeting, preliminary exhibition site designs, assigning the Scientific Committee with the preparation of scientific papers, the allocation of the necessary financial resources, and the authorization of Eng. Ahmed Ismail Al-Mutawakel, Chairman of the Executive Preparatory Committee, to undertake additional executive responsibilities aimed at expediting conference preparations.
Participants stressed the importance of strengthening coordination among all committees and maintaining a spirit of teamwork to ensure that the Fourth National Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition is organized to the highest standards, reflecting Yemen’s scientific capabilities while promoting sustainable development, advancing scientific research, and encouraging investment in clean and renewable energy technologies.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the committee members’ commitment to implementing the conference timetable as scheduled and closely monitoring the completion of all assigned tasks, ensuring the achievement of the conference’s scientific and developmental objectives and the success of this important national event as a leading scientific and economic platform for renewable energy in Yemen.
