Yahya Mohammed Abdulwahab AL-FAQIEH
Obtained the Master degree in Orthodontics with an Excellent average of 92%, from the Department of Orthodontics, Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Sanaa University, for his Master’s thesis entitled:
Optimal Relationship of Maxillary Central Incisors Antero-posterior Position to the Face in a Selected Group of Adult Yemeni Males
The discussing committee consisted of:
♦ Professor Dr. Ghamdan Abdalla AL-HARAZY, Principle Supervisor Committee Member,
♦ Associate Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed AL-DHORAEE, External Examiner Head of Committee, and
♦ Associate Professor Dr. Fuad Lotf AL-MOTARREB, Internal Examiner Committee Member
This Master’s thesis aims at investigating the optimal antero-posterior position of the maxillary central incisor in relation to facial structures in a group of selected adult Yemeni males as judged from a smiling view.
The study comes out with results: The maxillary central incisor shows a more significant interior position compared to the study group relatively to FALL, GV and Barcelona Lines. There exists a statistically significant positive correlation observed between the incisor anterior-posterior position relatively to all reference lines. There exists also a moderate correlation, within the control group, between the AP position of the MCI-FALL and FI.
The researcher presents a number of recommendations at the end of this study: It is important to use such a reference criteria for evaluating the antero-posterior position in Yemeni cases. There should be future studies in order to generalize such results to larger groups in Yemen.
Attendees of the session were a number of academics, researchers, interested students of the major, as well as the researcher’s colleagues and some of family members.
