Sana’a University Council Approves Health Insurance for Enrolled Students
Sana’a, Yemen – The Sana’a University Council convened today for its fifth regular meeting of the academic year 1446 AH. The council approved the provision of health insurance for enrolled students, covering health services provided by the university. Students will contribute an annual fee of 1,000 Yemeni Rials as part of their registration fees and will be responsible for 10% of the cost of medical services rendered.
Chaired by the University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, and attended by the university vice rectors, assistants, and faculty deans, the Council also approved the restructuring of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. This process of restructuring will result in two distinct faculties: the Faculty of Medicine (focused on the Human Medicine program) and the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences (dedicated to allied health programs).
Furthermore, the council awarded MA and PhD. degrees to twenty-three students and approved the results of Pre-Master Diploma programs for thirty students across various specializations within the university’s centers and faculties.
During the meeting held at the university headquarters, the council also granted graduate students the right to select their thesis supervisors and waived fees associated with PhD and MA viva voce procedures within the halls of the centers and faculties.
The council addressed numerous topics related to academic affairs, student matters, graduate studies, and university centers, making appropriate decisions accordingly.
